The SPACEial North West project team are delighted to be short listed for the Association of Geographic Information UK Awards under two categories ‘Excellence in Research & Development’ and ‘The Best Use of Geospatial for Business Benefit’, to be held on November 13th in Kenilworth, UK.
The annual AGI awards recognise the exceptional work that is being done within the UK GI industry and helps promote and foster a spirit of innovation.
SPACEial North West, which is a cross-border project led by Donegal County Council, has been short listed on the basis of reaching the criteria of advancing best practice, technology, data and tools to the benefit of the geospatial industry and deemed as having had a positive impact on business processes or practices.
The SPACEial NW project ‘places data at the heart of decision making’ by allowing state agencies, local authorities, planners, entrepreneurs, tourists and members of the public to view, analyse and extract relevant spatial information for different locations throughout the North West cross border region. The project delivers a one stop shop for ‘Maps, Stats and Apps’ and takes the region to a place where they can be used to guide business, investment and spatial planning decisions at a touch of a button.
